The 2009 CTFI National
Championships were held this past weekend, April 24th – 26th
in Montreal, QC. With over 350 competitors competing the event was an
overall success. The action began on Friday evening with Black Belt
Pattern pre-qualifying rounds and continued on Saturday morning with the
Black Belt Sparring pre-qualifying rounds. The Color Belt Pattern and
Sparring events followed in the afternoon.
The
final rounds of Black Belt competition began on Saturday evening with
the round robin events in Patterns and Sparring and finished up on
Sunday morning. It was from these round robin events that the
individuals were selected for the Canadian National Team to represent
Canada in the World Championships in Argentina this November.
